We’ve been singing the Friends theme song wrong this entire time

Orlaith Condon

Our whole life is a lie.

There are few things in this world that we would confidently call ourselves experts in – finding a way to make that final tenner before payday stretch, applying makeup in a moving vehicle and the lyrics to the Friends theme song.

Well, it turns out our entire lives have been a lie and in the words of Ygritte from GOT – we know nothing!

For anyone who tuned into this weekend’s much anticipated Saturday Night Takeaway finale, you’d have been shocked to learn you’ve probably been singing the Friends theme song wrong this entire time.

Yep, during the show’s singalong segment, one audience member was asked to complete the lyrics of the famous theme tune – easy enough, right?

Well, not the case, as the woman was obviously left in shock to learn she had been singing them incorrectly.

Singing after the classic “I’ll be there for you…” the woman responded with “When the rain starts to fall”.

Correct, right? NO. It’s not. It’s not correct.

Apparently, the words are actually “when the rain starts to pour”.

And while there will always be some who claim to have known this all along (we don’t buy it, btw), we found solace when we turned to Twitter to realise we were not the only ones who were left mind blown.
