The drama of the festive season looks to be far from over.
We were just getting our heads around everything going on on Albert Square when things got even weirder on last night’s episode of EastEnders.
After the pretty hilarious New Year’s Day robbery, Billy Mitchell had stashed the stolen cash in his funeral home but when it came time for the gang to look for it, it was nowhere to be found.
In their panic during the search, Aidan, Billy, Phil, Vincent, Mick and Keanu managed to topple a dead body out of a coffin in fairly sensational fashion.

As the credits rolled, we couldn’t really believe what we’d just watched.
Some viewers criticised the scene, claiming that it was disrespectful.
@bbceastenders Eventhough I knew what was going to happen when the coffin opened, it was disrespectful & difficult to watch #Eastenders

That corpse falling out is a bit bloody disrespectful ? I know it’s a soap but come on #EastEnders

Real body or not, it’s distasteful & it maybe just be me, but I don’t think the dead should be joked about in such a way. #Eastenders

#EastEnders This ridiculous robbery storyline is going from bad to worse. Far-fetched & pretty distasteful.

Others, ourselves included, were just plain traumatised by the whole thing.
“If you’ve been affected by any of the scenes in tonight’s show…” Em yes EastEnders, I have. You just made a dead body fall out of a coffin and roll onto the floor… #EastEnders pic.twitter.com/98sHMZTw60

But plenty of fans did see the funny side of it all.
Wow eastenders ending with a corpse falling out on the floor but if I’m not mistaken corpses ain’t meant to slightly bounce ???? #EastEnders

I see, the corpse ate the money. It all makes sense now in #EastEnders

Best acting from the corpse. #EastEnders

As for where the money’s gone? A lot of people reckon that hapless Billy accidentally went and buried it in another coffin.
LOOOOOOOOOOL they’ve buried the loot haven’t they #EastEnders pic.twitter.com/iK9x3taKIU
