Una Healy has revealed that she once feared she would never be able to have children.

The mother-of-one explained in a recent interview that she was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s hyperthyroidism, a condition that can leave women infertile.

Una spoke out recently about her diagnosis (image via Instagram).

She told Fabulous magazine that she only found out about the auto-immune disease by chance, during a regular check-up:

“If I hadn’t been for that check-up I’d probably have kept putting it (having children) off, thinking I had loads of time… And to this day I wouldn’t be pregnant,” she explained.

Una, who has an 18-month-old daughter with hubby Ben Foden, added that the news did panic her: “I freaked out. Straight away I said to Ben, ‘Let’s stop not trying and see what happens.’”

Soon after the surprise diagnosis the cutest baby in celebland (and possibly the world), Aoife Belle, was conceived.
