Satorial Secrets: The Style Butler Is On Hand To Help With Fashion Queries

Wardrobe worries are no longer with this hotel's new style service

Cathy Donohue

For many of us, shopping can be a nightmare rather than a hobby but that looks set to change, for five star guests at least, with The Shelbourne’s new Style Butler service.

Stylist Marietta Doran is the lady in the know for all things fashion which makes her a perfect companion for shopping sprees.

A regular fashion critic on Channel 4 Racing and Rte Racing, she also spent five years directing style makeovers on Off the Rails.

Working as a buyer in London, Paris, Auckland, Sydney and Milan allowed her to introduce new and exciting labels to Irish women. Marietta then saw a gap in the market and in 2002; she was one of the first people to offer a personal shopping service.

The brains behind the new service at the luxurious Dublin hotel tell us that The Style Butler service is “perfect for anyone shopping for a special occasion”. Think returning to work after having a baby, dressing to impress in hope of a promotion or even if you’re the mother of a bride, searching for a flattering outfit. However if it’s a plain-old wardrobe overhaul you’re after, it can also be used as a general service, where Marietta will discuss in detail what suits you and your shape and what colours to go for in sync with your budget.

Marietta can help with all things fashion

Before the consultation you will fill out a questionnaire, helping Marietta to get to know you and your style. This is followed by a chat where you can tell her exactly what you want. It’s then time to shop till you drop… that’s if you can last for three hours on your feet!

“I have a great belief that everything is possible and all looks are achievable,” says Marietta. “Above all else I get huge pleasure from the transformation of my clients’ image and confidence. I am so looking forward to this new role at The Shelbourne, and delighted to be bringing another kind of style expertise to Dublin’s most stylish hotel!”

Now all we need is for someone to book us in for the night. Pretty please?
