Don’t store away your jacket yet… the weather is about to get cooler

Alan Loughnane

Temperatures are set to be lower than average…

It was probably too much to ask for the weather to pick up, wasn’t it?

Sunday is promised to be mostly dry with highest temperatures of 11C to 14C, although there will be some cloud along Atlantic coastlines from the afternoon onwards.

Tonight will be colder and more blustery with scattered showers spreading around the country, turning heavy in parts of the west and south-west.

Monday will be sunny for a time but will generally give way to cloudier weather with scattered outbreaks of rain which will turn heavy in places with temperatures once again between 11C and 14C.

On to Tuesday and it will be dry and mostly cloudy day. There will be some sunny spells however, especially in the east and south-east.

Feeling cool with top temperatures only 9C to 12C in moderate to fresh winds.

Between Wednesday and Friday it will be dry apart from isolated light showers. Overall, it will be cool with a good deal of cloud but some sunny spells are possible.

Temperatures will be below average for this time of year, typically only 10C to 13C with moderate westerly breezes.
