Man arrested after woman (30s) found dead in Cork

A man has been arrested in Cork following the discovery of a woman’s body in a house in the city’s Northside overnight.

The Irish Independent reports that the woman, who is believed to have suffered head and neck injuries, was in her thirties.

Gardaí are understood to be treating her death as suspicious.

A concerned local person raised the alarm at the scene on Pophams Road, where the body will remain until it is removed to Cork University Hospital.

The area has been sealed off as Gardaí continue their investigations.
