“I Feel Awkward!”: Nickelodeon Star Comes Out as Gay on YouTube

The YouTube and TV actor has come out online.

YouTube and Nickelodeon sensation Lucas Cruikshank has come out as gay fittingly, on video.

Known for starring as a popular young character called “Fred” on both Nickelodeon and YouTube, the star released a special video titled “ARE YOU GAY?!?” where he addressed the question head-on.

In the video, Cruikshank and his friend, Jennifer Veal, of Disney Channel’s Jessie are taking part in a light-hearted Q&A answering questions from fans.

“He’s gay,” says Veal in the video, “I’m gay,” agrees Cruikshank. “It feels so weird saying it on camera!”

“My friends and family have known for, like, three years, I just haven’t felt the need to announce it on the Internet,” says Cruikshank.

“I feel awkward!”

Cruikshank’s alter-ego Fred was once was one of the most subscribed channels on the world. He now has 2,187,034 subscribers with some videos clocking up to 53 million views.

Many celebrities and fellow YouTubers have been showing their support for the young actor, even music icon Cher!

Lucas will be celebrating his 20th birthday at the end of the month.
