Lady Gaga Appeals To Fans Not To Send Threats Via The Internet

We suspect that this is directly aimed at Perez Hilton...

Lady Gaga and Perez Hilton have really been having a go at each other the last few days via social media, but today, August 20th, events became a little stranger.

Gaga, perhaps under pressure as Hilton had claimed he feared for the life of his son and for himself, posted a piece to her Born This Way Foundation tumblr account.

The singer outlines what she stands for as an artist claiming she is “passionate about tolerance, acceptance, and kindness, and I’ve made it a point early in my career to make it known that this is what I stand for as an artist.”

She continued: “Sending threats of any kind, using hateful or abusive language, and the provoking of others on the internet is not supported by me or anything that I stand for. What I’ve seen transpiring is wrong and upsetting to me, and I’ve made it very clear how I feel about equality and compassion.”

Gaga finished by declaring that: “I also ask that Twitter and other social media platforms support this effort to monitor and control abusive and threatening language, as I don’t know that I am powerful enough to stop it myself. Please represent me and our community with the values we cherish and live by.”

The post is strange considering that Gaga had sent a tweet claiming Hilton had sent her an abusive text, which may have added fuel to the fire. She also asked Perez to stop stalking her and added that he was “sick”. Hilton was initially tweeting that Gaga had slipped in the charts on his own twitter account.
