11 Childhood Games That Almost Sent Us Over The Edge

And we thought our mothers stressed us out...

Stress isn’t good for anyone at any age, especially not children. And playtime wasn’t always just fun and games…

We urge toy makers to think of the children, for god sake THINK OF THE CHILDREN!

From having a steady hand, to beating the clock, here are 11 childhood games that were much more pull-you-hair-out-stressful than fun…

1. Don’t Buzz the Wire

Just holding the stick sent you in to momentary meltdown.

2. Jenga

Sure this would leave even the coolest of customers hot under the collar…

3. Buck-a-roo

Steady there now horsey…

4. Bop it

Don’t even get us started on this one… As if it wasn’t bad enough, they brought out ‘Extreme 2’.

5. Snakes-and-ladders

We can’t help but remember playing this game and feeling a lot like Samuel L. Jackson in ‘Snakes on a Plane’.

I am sick and f*ckin’ tired of these mother f*ckin snakes on this mother f*ckin’… board game.

6. Rubix Cube

Why? Why would anyone buy this for a child… was it some sort of sick joke?

7. Operation

We admitted defeat and our aspirations of becoming a surgeon were short lived…

8. Mouse Trap

This one had us pulling out our hair for obvious reasons…

9. Tamagotchi

Sure for feck sake, we could hardly feed ourselves when the dinner was set out on front of us, never mind keep our Tamagotchi alive and clean up after it. (There was really no need for all that poop).

10. Snake

You use to play this one on the sneak underneath the school desk, but it was more stressful than a trigonometry sum.

11. Snap

Wait for it… wait for it… You were at your wits end trying to slyly place the card down so that you’d win the game. Just never worked out that way.

We’ll not lie, we still play a few of these classics from time-to-time (more often than we should) and we haven’t yet managed to just enjoy the game…

Competitive? Us? Never!
