There seems to be a whole lot more people involved with the Lady Gaga and Perez Hilton twitter feud than at the beginning.
According to OK! Magazine, Hilton has now claimed that he is “afraid for his safety” following a backlash from Gaga’s claims that Hilton was “stalking” her.
Hilton began tweeting on Friday evening that Gaga had slipped in the charts. Gaga then replied, but not directly, that she still had in her possession a photo that Hilton had sent of her in her wheelchair with Madonna standing behind her with a gun.
After Lady Gaga tweeted, a lot of her fans took to their own accounts to send some harsh words Hilton’s way. Some of the tweets issued threats, both to Hilton and his son.
Gaga sent a follow-up post asking her fans to ignore the celeb journalist, but the damage had already been done.
Just before Hilton retweeted some of the messages he had received, he declared on his own twitter account that he feared for his safety.
Lady Gaga publicly declared in tweets that Hilton was stalking her, even those these tweets have now disappeared. They initially read: “STAY AWAY FROM ME + MY FAMILY YOU ARE SICK TRYING TO RENT AN APARTMENT IN MY BUILDING TO STALK ME. LEAVE ME ALONE!!!”
A later one read: “DO I NEED TO BE SHOT IT IN THE HEAD FOR PEOPLE TO UNDERSTAND THAT HIM AND EVERYONE ELSE THAT HARASSES ME HAS GONE TOO FAR? I’M A HUMAN BEING.”
According to NME, Hilton released a statement declaring that he had just been out house hunting for the day. “I am devastated and my heart hurts that my former very good friend, a person I used to call my “wifey” and travelled the world with, is making very public and very untrue allegations about me on Twitter…. Any allegation that I am stalking her, based on a day of house hunting with my baby boy and my mother, is utterly false, defamatory and now appears to be putting me and my family in danger.”
Despite the fact that the tweets have now disappeared from Gaga’s account, Hilton tweeted an old photo of the pair at a party.
This doesn’t look like it’s going anywhere for a while…
