UPDATE; Batten down the hatches, Storm Doris has hit

The worst of the winds are expected to moderate as the day goes on,

Emergency crews are now at work across the country to repair some of the damage caused by Storm Doris which hit early this morning.

Met Eireann still has a yellow weather warning in place until Midday.

ESB crews reported that over 50,000 customers were left without power due to the damaging winds.

Large faults were reported in counties Galway, Mayo, Sligo, Leitrim and Dublin.

Some ferries between Ireland and the UK have been cancelled and and early morning flights were delayed from Dublin Airport due to the severe weather conditions.

Passengers are advised to check online before setting off on their journeys today.
