The Saturdays singer Una Healy has come out and spoken about her sea scare while on holidays in the Algarve in Portugal with her family.

Despite being a champion swimmer and even swimming for Ireland in her teens, Healy found herself in a spot of trouble while out at sea with her husband, Ben Foden.

“Ben and I did a spot of paddle boarding in the sea”, she said. “The first time we did it I did really well but on the second occasion the currents had really picked up and the tide was going out quickly.”

“I’m a really strong swimmer but I just couldn’t get myself back into the shore.”

The 31 year old and her husband had to be rescued by a hotel speedboat to bring them to safety.

“It was a bit scary but I had a life jacket on so I was safe” she said.

“Ben started to tow me in and then the hotel speedboat came to our rescue.”

Glad to hear that the family is safe.
