First Dates Ireland was one of the most popular series on Irish TV last year.
It gave some brilliant moment on the show and also some hilarious commentary on social media. Thankfully, it’s back again and starts tonight on RTÉ2.
But of all the couples from last year’s show there is one that is still going strong. Katie Greene and Ciaran Farrell are still together nearly a year after they had their first date on the show.
Katie, who is from Dublin, moved to Canada a few months after taking part but the pair are still together.
According to The Sun, Katie said:
“I knew last year when I did the show that I was moving to Canada.
So in the beginning, we took things quite slow.
Then I moved to Toronto in June and we were in constant contact, talking every day.”
Ciaran added:
“We went on a good few dates after that but it only got to a certain stage because we knew Katie was moving to Canada. It all fell into place when I visited Katie in October.
At the end of the trip, I asked her if she’d like to be official. It was very natural.”
He also said that taking part in the show was the best thing he ever did.
