Actress Claire Sweeney has revealed that she suffered a miscarriage last year.
The former Brookside star recently opened up to OK! magazine about how she felt when she found out she had lost her baby.
“When we lost the baby, I was very philosophical about it. It wasn’t meant to be. Things weren’t right,” she explained.
Her fiancé Daniel Riley added: “Claire got pregnant at the start of last year. We got to 12 weeks, and then we lose the baby.
“It was Claire’s first pregnancy. So we’ve been trying since then. We’ve had all the tests and we’re alright. So it’s God-willing, really.”
The couple, who got engaged at Christmas, are hoping to conceive naturally but haven’t ruled out the possibility of fertility treatment.
Claire (42) and Daniel (28) are eager to have children.
