British Gas have pissed off a lot of people with their David Bowie tribute tweet

Today marks the one year anniversary of David Bowie’s death.

Many fans have turned to Twitter to mark the occasion and again reflect on the singers life.

British Gas jumped on the bandwagon and sent out a tweet that has caused offence to many of Bowie’s followers.

Morning all. A year today we lost a pop icon David Bowie, time flys don't it? We're here till 10pm if you need anything. Thanks, Paul #RipDB

It’s been called tacky and insensitive and many have pointed out the incorrect hashtag and poor grammar.

The tweet remains but the original poster and his colleagues are replying and apologising to each complaint.

So yeah so it may have started off pretty bad but Paul has emerged as a true hero.
