Disgraced former president of the Olympic Council of Ireland (OCI) Pat Hickey is set to return home to Ireland after months in Rio.
According to The Irish Times, the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) put up the €410,000 bail required for him to leave Brazil.
Hickey was arrested three months ago in Rio following allegations of ticket touting.
According to RTÉ, the ANOC made the loan on humatiarian grounds after the OCI refused.

It is further reported that the decision was unanimously approved by ANOC president Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah, and all ANOC vice presidents.

A statement obtained by RTÉ reads:
“The terms of the temporary loan make it clear that it must be repaid to ANOC in full.”
“For legal reasons, all other terms and conditions surrounding this bail payment will remain confidential.
