The cold weather we’ve experienced in Ireland in recent weeks is set to continue for the foreseeable future, with temperatures set to drop to as low as -2 in the coming days.
According to Met Éireann, there’s good news in that conditions will be mostly dry and settled in the early part of this week, but it will also feel very cold, particularly at night.
Temperatures are forecast to drop as low as -2 on Monday night, with severe frost set to form as a result, particularly in Munster and the southern half of Leinster.
Fog patches will also be common throughout the country, often dense in places.
Conditions should be calmer closer to next weekend, with an increase in cloud cover leading to milder temperatures, but not much more than 9 degrees during the daytime.
In contrast to last week, there are currently no weather warnings for any part of the country, but there’s still a need to wrap up warm and to stay cautious when behind the wheel, particularly when the temperature drops later in the evenings.
