When James Gandolfini passed away suddenly just a couple of weeks ago, his family and friends released heart-felt statements about his kind generosity and goodwill, but this latest one broke our hearts a little.

It seems Gandolfini left most of his fortune to his sisters and family, but also made room for a lot of his friends.

Doug Katz, a close friend of the Sopranos star from college, has revealed that the actor left him money in his will for Katz’s autistic son, according to the New York Post.

Deborah Lin, Gandolfini’s widow, called Katz to inform him of the $50,000 Gandolfini left in his will.

“I was shocked,” Katz said. “He’s my son’s guardian angel. He got him nutritional supplements, anything Andrew needed to help him lead a better life. Jim sponsored gymnastics for my son.”

Gandolfini also left money to his godson Robert Parish, purchasing rights to an apartment for his son Michael and a house in Italy for Michael’s half-sister Liliana. However, there have been reportst that there could be a lot of death taxes involved with the will.

“I’d rather have Jim alive than his money,” said Katz. “You could never meet a nicer guy in the world. He was the glue that kept us together.”
