This is disturbing.
We are probably all guilty of not washing some things as often as we should, whether it’s our bed sheets or our jeans. But the one thing that can’t go a day without being washed in underwear.
It doesn’t need much of an explanation but washing your underwear daily is pretty imperative.
Repeatedly wearing dirty clothes, especially underwear and socks, can encourage the growth of microorganisms which is pretty nasty and can lead to a rash.
While most of us claim to know this, it somehow doesn’t stop some men and women from wearing the same pair of underwear several times in a row. In fact, 20% of men and 6% of women admitted to the consecutive wearing of the same pair for 2 to 3 days in a row according to a survey by YouGov.
When it comes to bras women tend to be a little bit more liberal when it comes to popping them in the washing machine.
A total of 41% of women claimed to wear theirs three to five times before washing them.
It’s important to note that the recommended frequency of washing bras differ from washing underwear, while we are advised to wash our underwear everyday, the washing guidelines for bras vary from several days to a week, so we don’t need to feel too guilty about that one!
