The puppies are now back in Ireland.

Nearly 100 Irish puppies have been seized by officials in the UK according to reports.

It is believed that the dogs had been illegally exported to Holyhead from Dublin Port.

The puppies included Beagles, Cocker Spaniels, Cavachons and Yorkshire Terriers.

The dogs were seized from two individuals by the RSPCA.

The animals have all since been returned to Ireland. As some of them are ill they are being treated for at a DSPCA shelter in Rathfarnham.

”This case is just one of many which have been discovered following intelligence led investigations. Furthermore, it is understood that in this case the two parties may be connected. One of these individuals is known to the DSPCA from a recent case involving illegal puppy trading at Dublin Port.” The DSPCA said.

”None of the puppies are available for adoption or for reservation at present. A statement will be issued next week with more information.” They added.
