You’ve Got A Friend In Me – Fifteen Of TV’s Greatest Friendships

Where would these guys be without each other? Nowhere, that's the answer.

Sue Murphy

Over the years, they have bonded on our very TV screens and we secretly hoped that friendship translated into real life. We just worried they would be lost without each other. Here are fifteen of our favourite TV friendships.

1. Chandler and Joey from Friends

These guys really were the best of friends. Remember when Joey moved out? Heartbreaking.

2. Miranda and Carrie from Sex and the City.

Well, we know the four girls were a group, but let’s be fair these gals were a little closer than the rest.

3. Spongebob and Patrick from Spongebob Squarepants.

They are going to party until they are purple!

4. Monica and Rachel from Friends

Monica took Rachel in when no one else would, and so began a beautiful, comedic era.

5. Cliff and Norm from Cheers

One of the original bromances, Cliff and Norm lived at the end of that bar.

6. Liz Lemon and Jenna Maroney from 30 Rock

We’re not sure if this really classifies as a friendship or just something that is of benefit to Jenna, but they make the list.

7. Barney and Ted from How I Met Your Mother

Because when he had to, Ted gave up Robin.

8. Leonard and Sheldon from Big Bang Theory

Leornard is possibly the only person in the world who could put up with Sheldon long term. True friendship.

9. Spock and Captain Kirk from Star Trek

Get ready for the tears.

10. Bernard and Manny from Black Books

Bernard pretends he doesn’t like Manny but then he left, and Bernard went into secret mourning.

11. Cristina and Meredith from Grey’s Anatomy

Failed weddings, failed marriages, near-death experiences, these guys have been through the ringer together.

12. Patsy and Eddie from Ab Fab

Friends who drink together, stay together.

13. Father Dougal and Father Ted from Father Ted

Sure, when you’re stuck on an island together, you better be friends.

14. Turk and JD from Scrubs

The most beautiful of all bromances.

15. Jack and Karen from Will & Grace

Thrown together through Will and Grace, these are two of our favourite buddies. A friendship built on laughing at the misfortune of others… Beautiful.
