Captain Planet held a treasured place in our hearts, the show was definitely one of the better cartoon programmes over the years and most importantly, there was a message about the envoirnment.
There had been rumours of a Captain Planet film on and off over the years, considering the popularity, but now Sony are apparently close to buying the rights to bring the series to the big screen, according to Digital Spy.
The story revolved around a super hero called Captain Planet who could be summoned by five young teenagers with the power of their rings.
Each of the rings represented a different nature source, earth, wind, fire, water and heart.
We have to say, we’re a little excited.
