This could be the unexpected reason you keep getting spots

Megan Roantree

Well this isn’t good.

So we already knew that sugary foods, bad quality face products, and stress can cause spots, but studies have shown that there is another cause of spots and it’s not something we expected.

Your shampoo choice could have a lot to do with your skin according to dangene.com.

Spots can be caused by oily shampoos, conditioners, and other hair products. This is so common that it even has its own name ‘pomade acne’.

The cleaning and moisturising agents in hair products can seep into your pores which can lead to acne all over your skin. It is especially likely that it will cause spots along the hairline so if you’re getting a lot of that, this may be why.

The best way to avoid it is to stay away from overly oily hair products, but also, it is important to wash your hair first thing in the shower and the rinse it well. After your hair is rinsed tie is back off your face to avoid any product seeping into your skin, then wash your face last.

If you still manage to get spots even after trying this, remember that there is sort of a benefit to having acne, as studies recently found that having acne means that you will be less likely to have wrinkles later in life.

So it’s not all bad.
