Well, fingers crossed, this might actually happen! Disney are reportedly developing a stage show of the Muppets.
A brief showcase has already been tested by Disney in their New Amsterdam Theatre for a group of staff and a handful others connected to the project, according to Variety. Around 85 puppets were used to check if the concept would work on stage.

“It was a test of concept,” said Thomas Schumacher, producer and prexy of Disney Theatrical.
The company is also reportedly developing other stage projects including Father of the Bride, Shakespeare in Love and the Hunchback of Notre Dame.
