Enjoy the hot weather while it’s here – it’s not going to last

Get out and enjoy the sun.

In typical Irish fashion, people are complaining this morning that it’s too hot.

In fairness, if you walked into work you will have noticed that it’s substantially hotter than previous days and it’s going to continue to be hot for the next two days.

Met Éireann is advising that it will continue to be warm and humid today with a mix of cloud and sunshine for many areas.

There are chances of rain or drizzle in places as well, though, but mainly in western coastal counties and in the northwest. Highest temperatures of 19 to 24 degrees, which will be warmest in the east.

Then tomorrow it will continue to be warm with most places staying dry. The best of the sunshine will be in the east with rain and drizzle affecting western areas in the evening. Highest temperatures of 20 to 23 degrees can be expected.

The outlook for the rest of the week isn’t looking as good, though, with Thursday turning windy over western and north-western counties. Heavy showers can be expected in many places as well. Highest temperatures of 16 to 18 degrees.

Scattered outbreaks of rain will continue during Friday morning. Heavier rain will develop and spread eastwards in the afternoon and evening but will clear overnight.

Come the weekend, the weather is going to be very mixed with dry conditions forecast for Saturday and heavy rain expected on Sunday.
