The Zara shoe that’s big news for autumn winter

It won't be to everyone's taste...

Cathy Donohue

Say hello to the ‘hootie shoe’.

It’s set to be a key trend for autumn winter 2016 and with a name like that, at least everyone will remember it.

The term was coined by the fashion savvy Who What Wear team to describe the hootie, which is basically a mix of a heel and a boot.

Although high-street versions have landed at Zara and Mango, it was first picked up by major designers including Céline, Sportsmax, Lanvin and Acne Studios.

They’re the type of shoes that you’d wear the days you want a “bit” of a heel and will dress up the standard jeans and knit cold-weather outfit.

At the moment, they’re only available in a white shade from Zara but here’s hoping black arrives soon.

They’re retailing at €59.95 and the on-trend way to wear them is with cropped trousers or the jean shape of the season, the cropped flare.

If you’re prepared to splurge a little bit extra, then check out these ‘hooties’ from Mango.

They’re pretty fab and they’re €69.95, so only a tenner extra which isn’t that bad really.

Right?

Below is my pathetic attempt to justify yet another pair of shoes.

They’re *kind of similar to* tan and tan looks good with everything and tan never goes out of style so basically, I need them in my life.
