Dismal, Wet Monday? We Can Cross Our Fingers And Look Forward To A Sunny Weekend…

But it's not all good news...

We can look forward to the weekend if it’s a spot of sunshine we’re looking for, but first we’ve a week of thundery showers with a few sunny spells ready for us.

Tomorrow will start off mainly dry with sunny spells, but heavy showers in the west will spread to all parts during the day, Met Éireann and the Irish Independent report.

There are more scattered showers for Wednesday and yet more rain and drizzle on Thursday.

Weather firm Weather Services International report that they are predicting a “cool, wet summer” for Ireland with colder-than-average temperatures right through to August.

They also tipped that Northern Ireland will have above-average temperatures in the month of August.

“Our forecast models all suggest low pressure and cool, wet weather across Ireland through summer,” said WSI chief meteorologist Dr Todd Crawford.

“We can’t find any convincing evidence the cool and wet pattern of recent summers will relent.”

For now, we’ll just look forward to a few spots of sun this Bank Holiday weekend…
