What makes an epic road trip? We’ve got a couple of ideas…
With Fast & Furious 6 in cinemas, our dream road trip would most likely involve a jaunt in a seriously sexy car with Paul Walker, Vin Diesel and The Rock. Sadly, that’s unlikely to happen any time soon! So, we’ll enjoy the dreaming while we’re watching F&F 6 on the big screen, but we’ve also turned our hand to putting together the essential items for a road trip you can really take, right now!

A Banger
The F&F series or movies showcases the hottest cars on the planet – and some day, we’ll own one. In the meantime though, a proper road trip just isn’t the real deal if you don’t, at some stage, feel like you’ll break down and never make it. It adds to the sense of adventure and thrill! But make sure you’re signed up to the AA, just in case…
The Mix Tape
A road trip is nothing without its soundtrack, this much we know. We recommend a selection of the cheesiest pop songs known to man, or, even better, a compilation of classic 80s power ballads. All together now ‘A singer in a smokey room, a smell of wine and cheap perfuuuuume, for a smile they can share the night, It goes on and on and on and on……”
The Camera
What happens on a road trip, stays on a road trip. And on Facebook. Come on, if anything remotely crazy or funny happens, the first thing you’re going to do is take a picture and use it to mortify your friends on social media. That’s true friendship right there.
A Sat Nav
Or you could go old school, with a map. Either way, it would be good to have something to rely on aside from your innate sense of direction – trust us.
The Snack Pack
Have you ever gotten hangry? It’s the feeling that comes over you when excess hunger leads to feels of anger. You do NOT need a hangry friend on your trip. Pack some snacks accordingly.
The Gossip
Time on the road is an adventure with your girls, and the perfect time to catch up too. Swap the stories you’ve missed out on over the past few busy weeks or months and get building back up those girlie bonds. Just don’t go full Thelma and Louise on it… nice movie ending, not one to copy!
