Childhood favourites Horrible Histories have already made their way from the bookshelf to the small screen, now they’re getting ready to hit it big time.
The stars of the award-winning children’s show Horrible Histories, inspired by the book series by Terry Deary, are heading to the big screen in a comedy movie about William Shakespeare, Sky News reports.
The six lead actors, Mathew Baynton, Simon Farnaby, Martha Howe-Douglas, Jim Howick, Laurence Rickard and Ben Willbond, will reunite to star in the film, called Bill, later this year.
Rickard and Willbond have scripted the film which sees the Bard “Bill Shakespeare” follow his dream of becoming a writer.
They pair told the news network: “We’re playing with history, just as Shakespeare did, for the entertainment of the audience.
“And we like to think he’d be OK with it. Apart from the bit where he’s dressed as a tomato.”
