A number of people have been injured by a man armed with an axe in Germany.
According to The Guardian, the incident happened on a train in the northern Bavarian town of Würzburg.
Local media says several people have been injured and although there are rumours that the man in question was shot, this has not yet been confirmed.
Some of the injuries are believed to be life-threatening and it is thought up to 21 people may have been hammered in the horrific attack.
A police operation is underway.
