Would you ever have a fight with someone for a bike in a spinning class? No, we didn’t think so but apparently women in a certain gym in New York are at each other’s throats when it comes to picking exercise bikes. Why? Well, they all want to nab the one beside Jake Gyllenhaal’s favourite set of wheels.
The New York Daily News reports that twice a week, at 10.30am, women flock to a spin class at SoulCycle in Union Square in the hopes of getting up, close and personal to the actor as he gets his exercise on.
“I just go to SoulCycle for Jake,” admitted one woman.
“Everyone knows which classes he goes to. Since they’re so hard to get into, I’ve even set up an alarm on my phone so it reminds me on Monday that I have to go online to be in that class,” she added.
Now THAT’s an incentive to get to the gym…
Jake attends the spinning classes every Tuesday and Thursday and apparently sits front and centre (meaning that you get a good eyeful of him wherever you are in the room). Aside from sexing up the place, Jake also brings something else to the class – motivation.
“Having him there, I’m on my best workout behaviour… Having him as eye candy does not hurt,” said another woman.
And it isn’t just attendees who are going mad to spin with Jake. Women have also reported that there is a sharp increase in the number of staff members on duty (all female, mind you) when the actor strolls in. Coincidence? Hmm… we don’t think so!
“I’m not sure they actually thought they were going to be plucked by Gyllenhaal from SoulCycle obsurity while wearing an oversized T-shirt, but I admired their gumption,” said one attendee speaking to the paper.
If you’re currently booking flights to NYC and getting ready to spin your backside off, we should probably tell you that while Jake DOES attend the classes, he usually has his girlfriend, Emily DiDonato (a Sports Illustrated model) with him. Boo.
Oh well. At least you’ll get a killer body and get to have a not-so-secret creep on Jake in the process…
