Joe Bell, the father of teenager Jadin who took his own life in Oregon in February, has pledged to walk across America in memory of his son.
The 15-year-old teen, who was the subject of intense bullying at school and on the internet for being openly gay, was rushed to hospital after he attempted to hang himself. He was taken off life support in early February.
Now, his father will set out across America in memory of his son. Walking around 15 to 25 miles a day, Joe Bell will take about two years to get across the country, according to the Huffington Post. Bell has quit his job in order to embark on the event.

Jadin, who passed away in February…
Bell is also expected to speak at schools about bullying on behalf of a group that has been set up following Jadin’s death, Faces for Change. He will also raise awareness and funds for Bullying Prevention.
The group are working with Google Earth in the hope of posting Joe’s trip online.
Bell has commented that New York will be especially poignant for him as this was where Jadin wanted to live one day.
