According to reports, there was a bomb scare in Limerick this evening.

The Ulster Bank branch on O’Connell Street was evacuated today shortly after 4pm.

JOE.ie reports that a female caller rang Henry Street Garda Station with the information that there was a bomb at the building.

The call was of a “threatening” nature and the building was searched before the call was declared a hoax.

This second bomb hoax comes a day after hundreds of people, including both students and teachers, were evacuated from Mildred National School.

Gardaí are believed to be investigating a number of “similar incidences” across the country.
