Nicky Byrne is a busy man.
He presents a daily radio show with Jenny Greene on RTÉ 2FM, he’s releasing a new solo album Sunlight and he’s just back from representing Ireland in the Eurovision Song Contest. He’s definitely eating his Weetabix in the morning to keep going.
Another project he may be adding to his CV is a presenting job with The X Factor spin-off show, The Xtra Factor which has made previous presenters like Caroline Flack, Olly Murs and Rochelle Humes household names.
The ex-Westlife singer was apparently screen tested for the coveted role before the Eurovision semi-final, with sources confirming Nicky may be joining Simon Cowell & Co. in the UK.
A source speaking to The Irish Mail on Sunday said
“A number of people are being considered for the position and Nicky is on that list.
“He has plenty of experience on camera and has a great profile in England which is a real plus.
“What happened in Stockholm won’t matter for this job. It is all about the chemistry. If they find someone who works with him he has a real chance at landing the gig.”
do you think Nicky Byrne would be suited to TV presenting?

It’d definitely be nice to see an Irish face presenting on one of the UK’s biggest shows.
