The Recession may still have a grasp on Ireland but that doesn’t mean that you can’t invest in your future or your career.
If you’re looking for a solid job that will see you through the highs and lows of the Irish economy, why not train as an accountant with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants?
The ACCA is the global body for professional accountants and has 586,000 students and members in 170 countries.
Accountants play a central function in any business and with the right qualifications, you could work your way to very top of any organisation. And if you think accountancy is boring, think again! It’s an exciting profession that continually changes with the times.
“Athough the accountancy sector has proven to be reasonably recession-resilient, career paths in the finance function are changing,” says Liz Hughes, the Head of ACCA Ireland.
“Research conducted on behalf of the ACCA shows that over half of the younger generation in the finance workforce are seeking wider business careers while some continue to pursue classic finance business careers, as well as providing insights into future career options,” she added.
ACCA Ireland: A qualification that opens doors
Studying with ACCA means that you’ll be able to learn at your own pace, part-time or full-time and once you’re qualified, you’ll be able to work in any sector.
“The recently launched ACCA Diploma in Accounting and Business was created in direct response to employers’ needs and allow the individual to develop skills that are best suited to business. Students can then transfer to the ACCA qualification and secure an advanced diploma, a BSc in Applied Accounting and ultimately their complete ACCA professional qualification,” says Ms Hughes.
