Saturday Night Live Star Front Runner To Host Oscars in 2014

He wasn’t one of our tipped hosts but it seems producers are impressed with his presenting skills

It seems that producers for the Oscars are eyeing up the possibility of Justin Timberlake presenting the Academy Awards for 2014. The actor has reportedly impressed Oscar bosses following his successful run with Saturday Night Live.

Timberlake obviously hasn’t taken much of a break of late with the release of his new album and impending tour with Jay-Z but it seems he is adding another job to his already increasing list of occupations.

A source told the National Enquirer magazine: “The Oscar honchos are in discussions with Mr. SexyBack already. Getting Justin to host would now be a huge coup for the Oscars. He’d been considered before, but they always thought he was too young and not seasoned enough. Now, he’s the frontrunner for the job after showing he knows how to sing, dance, host, and improvise on the spot.”

According to bosses at Saturday Night Live, the show posted its best ratings for a year following Timberlake’s presenting duties. The singer has now presented the show a total of five times.

However, Timberlake isn’t exactly the greatest improv comedian on the block and can often come across as awkward in dramatic performances. He may also be hanging himself with agreeing to the position as the backlash if things go wrong could be detrimental. Just ask Seth MacFarlane.
