The UK have one more programme to get hooked on.
TV3 has announced that BBC Daytime has acquired their drama Red Rock from All3Media International.
The award-winning series, which is produced by Element Pictures and Angel Station, will begin broadcasting daily in the UK later this year. It’s the second territory to snap up the popular soap following a sale to Amazon Prime in the US last year.
Ed Guiney, Red Rock Series Executive Producer, says: “The acquisition by the BBC is a massive testament to the creative talent involved in ‘Red Rock’ – the amazing writing and producing team and our stellar cast and crew.
“Coming on the back of the recent acquisition by Amazon, it’s a huge achievement for an Irish show. It’s also a great credit to TV3 and the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland who have been such steadfast and inspiring backers.”
Set around the Garda Station in a fictional seaside town just outside of Dublin, Red Rock follows two families who are feuding; the Hennessys and the Kielys.
When a bloodied and lifeless body is found on the piers, a longstanding dormant feud between the two families is reignited.
