We’re never happy.
Fine-haired ladies often find that a curly blow-dry drops out after an hour and if your locks are thick and unruly, taking on your hair straightener is as tough as arm day at the gym.
However, we’re here to help those looking to add volume and texture to your everyday style.
Below are our five tried and tested tips for getting that extra ‘oomph’.
Handiwork
It’s not always about expensive brushes and wonder products,
Your hands are actually key when it comes to adding texture and volume.
Start massaging the roots of your hair when washing your hair and then when you’re styling your locks, lift and scrunch to fake thickness.
Change it up
A very easy way to add volume if you’re heading out after work or simply want a different look is to opt for a different parting.
If you usually part your locks down the middle then change it up and opt part to the right/left instead.
Simple and it won’t cost you a penny.
It’s all in the blow-dry
Turning your hair upside-down while drying will add volume from the get-go.
To avoid your locks going out of control completely, though, flip your hair back up when it is halfway dry and scrunch it with your hands.
End result – BIG hair.
Choose products based on the look you want
If you want to achieve a specific look, using products designed for that particular style is key.
Shampoo, conditioner, and a curl maximiser work together to ensure the end result is big bouncy hair.
Fine hair needs extra care and attention when it comes to adding volume so using the right hair care routine will give you the desired results.
Backcombing.
This is the oldest trick in the book when it comes to adding volume instantly.
However, you need to be careful with this or you’ll end up breaking precious strands.
Make sure you use the comb is brought down to the roots and NEVER ever rub the comb up and down as this can do serious damage.
