The EgyptAir hijacking came to an end yesterday as it emerged that Seif Eldin Mustafa’s bomb was fake and he had forced the plane to land in Cyprus to see his Cypriot ex wife.
However, another story came to light which was WHY ON EARTH Ben Innes from Aberdeen got in a photograph with Mustafa mid-hijack.

The Guardian report Innes did it *sigh* for the banter. Innes said he did it to take “a closer look” at the apparent explosives belt, adding: “I figured if his bomb was real I’d nothing to lose anyway.”
A friend of his told The Telegraph Innes was a “wild man” and “very into his banter”,describing the risky picture as; “totally in character for him”.
His mother seemed less chuffed with his stunt: “Obviously he’s not come home yet and there are security issues to think about – we don’t want to talk about anything until it has all been resolved.”
