Buncrana: “I Knew Something Was Wrong” says Mother Louise

Louise James, the young mother left devasted by the tragic deaths of five of her family members, has spoken to the press about the incident.

Speaking to The Irish Mail on Sunday she has said “I just have to get on with it. As my Sean would say, take your lumps.”

Louise lost her mother, sister, husband and two sons earlier in the week. They were laid to rest on Thursday.

Speaking about the tragedy she said:

“I just knew…I got a feeling at 7.30pm. I knew something was wrong. I rang them back but their phones were off.

“My brother rang (to break the news) but I just knew. My friends rang. The police couldn’t give names. Then it was on the news. The police were on the phone to me and at my mum’s house with my brother.”

Louise spoke lovingly of her children, explaining that they would have stayed to help the family members in the car.

Louise says Mark could swim. She said:

“He would have refused to get out of the car. Sean wouldn’t have got out either – no way.

“Even if the boys had got out and my mother was in there he would have stayed. He would never have left them. He went down with them. That was him.”
