A man was shot dead in Ratoath, Co. Meath this evening.
The man, believed to be in his 50s, was reportedly shot as he sat in his car.
Initially, it was reported that the man was critically wounded but it is now believed that he died from his injuries.
The Irish Times reports that the victim was a cigarette smuggler known to Gardaí and an associate of Gerry Hutch.
