All over Internet land, hearts are breaking for this man.
It all started when his granddaughter, Kelsey Harmon, posted this to twitter.

Kelsey spoke to Buzzfeed and explained that her cousins are older and it’s harder for them all to get together.
“He’s always trying to make sure we all stay close to him and close to each other,” she said.
Kelsey explains the heart-wrenching picture.
“So I sit down and get a plate, but he waits because he wanted to make sure everyone else got plenty. Well about 30 minutes pass and he decides he’ll eat just one. An hour goes by and nobody shows. I could tell he was disappointed, but I made sure to stick around and hang out with him. We had a really great time”
Naturally it broke the hearts of Twitter users worldwide.

And as Kelsey explained later Papaw holds no grudges against his grandchildren. She writes:
“Papaw is perfectly fine. He knows about his new found fame and is just as shocked as me. He doesn’t understand social media but he is very thankful for all the kind words!”
