Teenage Girl In Serious Condition In Cork After Falling From Motorway Bridge

A 13-year-old girl is in a serious condition in Cork University Hospital after falling from a motorway bridge this morning.

The girl sustained multiple injuries after apparently falling from a bridge in Mahon, Cork at around 8am on Monday 14th.

The girl was discovered in a steep embankment by a passerby and paramedics were called to the scene, according to The Independent.

She was rushed to Cork University Hospital where her injuries were described as serious.

The teen, who is understood to be from the local area, sustained multiple fractures and internal injuries however it is hoped that doctors will be able to stabilise her condition.

Gardai have appealed for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have seen the schoolgirl in the minutes before she was injured to contact them.
