Feeling The Chill? It Looks Like We’re Set For Snow

You’re going to want to wrap up warm today.

Forget Spring, it seems we’re back in the grips of winter, with Met Eireann predicting snowfall and ice today and tonight.

Prepare to wrap up warm, with wintry showers of hail, sleet and snow set to fall across Leinster and East Munster from this morning through to late evening.

For those setting out on the roads later this evening, Met Eireann warns frost will be setting in quickly after dark – with just isolated wintry showers.

Temperatures will dip to just 4 to 7C, feeling coldest in the north and east.

With widespread severe frost setting in, road users should be aware of icy stretches across country roads.

The forecast adds:

‘A few light sleet or snow showers may affect parts of Ulster as well as eastern coastal areas. Lowest temperatures of 0 to minus 4 degrees Celsius, coldest inland.’

So much for the warmer weather… better grab those hats and gloves.
