This Type Of Facebook Status Is Most Likely To Make People De-Friend You

You have been warned.

It’s one of the most common pet peeves, but now it’s official.

A study has found those ranting Facebook status updates are causing friends and followers to cull you – meaning it might be time to invest in that diary for your frustration spillage.

According to i100, a survey of 10,000 people with a 50/50 gender split asked Facebook users what their social media habits and preferences were.

When they drilled down the analytics for the worst kind of posts and status updates, 62 per cent of men and 67 per cent of women said the worst type of post was a personal problem or rant.

The soapbox status topped online irritations caused by political rants and baby pictures, as well as the duck-face selfie or snaps of various foods.

The survey also showed that us ladies are more dependent on our social media than our male counterparts (or we’re at least willing to admit it).

While 73 per cent of women said they don’t think they’ll stay away from social media for just 30-60 days, 62 per cent of men argued they could stretch it out offline for 60-90 days.

So would you really miss those absent friends from your Facebook feed?

Well, we don’t actually consider a large chunk of our Facebook friends as besties in real life.

While 65 per cent of men estimate 60-80 per cent of their friends list are actual friends, 59 per cent of women count just 4-60 per cent of their online acquaintances as real life friends.

So if you just can’t take one more rant, then it might be time to defriend that user.

You’re probably not really that close anyway.
