WATCH: The Internet Thinks This Viral Video Is Too Good To Be True

Something fishy going on here...

Megan Cassidy

Aimee is to Storm Gertrude what Teresa Mannion is to Storm Barney…

At least she wishes.

She’s one part of the YouTube duo Craig & Aimee and quickly reached viral status after footage of her getting smacked in the face by a fish on Barry Island was shared more than 27,000 times.

However, savvy users are smelling something fishy, and the footage has been deemed a “set-up” and “fake”.

The video has racked up more than 2 million views on Facebook, and Aimee commented that she was overwhelmed with the response since it was uploaded on January 29th.

She said:

“The video has been viewed and shared more than any of our others, and we post videos on a weekly basis. It’s gone crazy.

“With Storm Gertrude trending on social media it’s been quite popular and people have loved it.”

However, the reaction has not been entirely positive.

One user wrote: “A set up me thinks lol, never seen a fish that size on the beach” while another commented: “It’s definitely fake.”
