It’s already become the secret staple ingredient for our morning coffee, but it’s got more power than just that…
Coconut oil can become a staple in your diet, it is not only versatile in cooking but it also has some pretty amazing health benefits too.
And, of course, it tastes great and can amp the flavour of any dish. Yum.
Here are three simple ways to get started…
Sautéing Your Veggies
It’s a delicious way to make vegetables more exciting. Steamed broccoli can get a bit boring, add a splash of coconut oil and it’s an instant flavoursome dish. Sauté spinach or other leafy greens in coconut oil and add a little sea salt for a sweet and salty mix.
Sweet tooth? Try sauté sliced banana in coconut oil with cinnamon… you’ll never look back.
Pan-Searing Fish
Instead of cooking a plain fillet of fish, add coconut oil to the pan for some subtle coconut flavour. Melt the coconut oil, let it get hot, and then sear the fish on either side. Add a little salt, garlic and a sprinkle of ginger. Gourmet…
Bake It
In liquid form, coconut oil is a great substitute for vegetable oil or butter. Melt coconut oil in a sauce pan on medium-low heat and use it in baking as you would melted butter. It will add a subtle coconut flavour and plenty of moisture to your baked goods…
