Never spend more than you have to – here are three easy ways to make sure your driving is as fuel efficient as possible:

1. Don’t carry unnecessary weight. While we at Her.ie are big fans of carrying an overnight bag with spare outfit, flats, and a toothbrush and toothpaste with you everywhere, packing up the car regularly with stuff you don’t need means it’s costing you more fuel and hitting your purse harder. Bring what you need and spare yourself some change…

2. Play it smooth. Hard acceleration and braking cost you more fuel, so build your speed slowly and brake in good time.

3. Walk every now and again. If you’re already in the car for an hour to and from work everyday, that five minure trip to the shop in the evening would serve you better as a twenty minute walk. Short trips cost you a lot of money in the long run, so save some cash and fuel and say goodbye to some calories instead, winner all round.
