Parts of the Country are Heavily Affected by Icy Roads and Snow. Motorists Warned to Take Care

Heavy Frost overnight has left many roads throughout the country in treacherous condition.

The Road Safety Authority is warning motorists to take care this morning as snowfall is predicted to take place.

A Status Orange snow and ice warning is in place for counties Donegal, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo, with snowfall of up to 8cm expected.

A Status Yellow snow and ice warning is in place for Longford, Cavan, Monaghan, Galway and Roscommon where 4cm of snow is expected to fall before midnight tonight.
