Kendall Jenner is one of the world’s top models but even she suffers from insecurities and recently spoke out about struggling with acne.

In a post on her website last year, Kendall said that she became very self-conscious about it and for a period of time, it ruined her “self-esteem”.

Her dermatologist, Dr. Christie Kidd, helped Kendall clear her acne and in a video on Kendall’s website, the expert spoke about she treats acne-prone skin.

When washing your face, there are certain rules you’ll want to follow.

Number one is avoiding anything ‘abrasive’ or harsh as Dr Kidd says this will make the situation worse.

“I never want you washing your face with anything abrasive. Not a scrub, not a rotating brush, not a washcloth. You want to treat it very delicately and just wash really well with your hands” said Dr. Kidd.

Speaking to Seventeen.com, Dr.Kidd said: “When it comes to washcloths, they can be pretty rough too, plus there’s the added worry of spreading bacteria from the washcloth to your skin.

“When you wash your face, bacteria gets on the cloth, so you really have to wash it after every use”.

Dr Kidd. is also an advocate of the ‘less is more’ rule: “I often find patients have bought and are using far to many products which makes their skin worse. Keeping it simple and effective is far better for acne.
